Comprehensive Dental Assistant Training
Dental Assistant Institute puts you in a rewarding career in just 13 short weeks, where you’ll get 81 hours of lecture and laboratory and a 50-hour externship with a practicing Dental Clinic to gain much needed experience. Our priority is to deliver the best Dental Assistant Training available in the state and we believe we do exactly that! Our classes are small and you’re taught in a friendly hands-on environment that includes real chairside experience.
This program meets all the required training requirements to earn state certification for Expanded Duties (Expanded Function) and Dental X-Ray Certification to practice in any General Dental or Specialty Dental Office or Clinic.
- Pass Instruments and Supplies to the Dentists
- Use Suction Devices to Keep Patients' Mouths Clear and Dry
- Prepare Materials and Set Up Sterile Instruments
- Remove Sutures and Prepare Dental Charts
- Apply Topical Anesthetics, Bleaching Agents, and Fissure Sealants
- Remove Stained and Soft Deposits from the Clinical Crown of a Tooth
- Selection and Placement of Matrix Bands
- Placement of Dental Dams and Fluoride Placements
- Take and Develop Dental X-Rays
- Take Impressions of Patients' Teeth
- Obtain Patients' Medical History and Vital Signs
- Provide Oral Care and Hygiene Instructions
- Handle Medical Emergencies and Render Basic First Aid and CPR
